Hey, I'm Shannon!
I've been a professional photographer for over 12 years now. I have specialized in weddings & high end portraits for most of that time.
Born & raised in KCMO, I know all of the best restaurants, bars, parks and most importantly, photo spots. I graduated from Mizzou in 2016 with a BA in Communication and a minor in art.
My college art classes are where I first found a love of the human body, and how unique and beautiful each one is. I've always considered photography an art form, but there's something extra special about Boudoir photography. Reminding people how beautiful they are and giving them new perspective, is priceless to me.
A few random, but likely relatable facts about me:
I am half Mexican. You wouldn't know this at first glance, but I thrive in hot weather, enjoy all things spicy, and love a good party.
Outside of running my businesses, I enjoy practicing yoga, cuddling my puppies Sampson and Scarlett, and checking out local happy hours.
I'm obsessed with finding new music and creating Spotify playlists.
So of course, I LOVE me some concerts. Bonus points for outdoors.
Hi, I'm Ashleigh.
I picked up photography 9 years ago, after searching for a creative outlet for myself in the midst of working a mundane job (I wasn't built for that 9-5 life!). In 2015, I experienced a devastating loss that got me thinking about what I wanted to accomplish in my life and I became highly motivated to pursue ALL of my goals. I realized time is just too precious. So, as a mother, part-time photographer, and waitress, I went through cosmetology school!
A few years into hairstyling, I shot my first boudoir session and I FELL IN LOVE. I suddenly felt like hairstyling wasn't all I was supposed to be doing. The reactions from my clients were so fulfilling. I felt like they saw ALL of themselves because of what I was able to create with them. My goal is to make my clients feel unstoppable in a world that is hell-bent on teaching us to be ashamed of our bodies and sexuality.
Some things you might find interesting about me:
-I'm the lucky mother to two beautiful girls, Audrey and Mya!
- I was a surrogate and gave birth to a precious baby girl in Dec. of 2018.
- If you catch me in public my hair and makeup will either be perfectly on point, or I'll look like I just rolled out of bed and will not feel a bit of shame (this is more of a fair warning).
- I love to sing! That’s the one thing that can instantly calm my thoughts and is my perfect destresser.
